7 Frozen Fruit Hacks — A True Summer Solution
Prepping and packing for a day on the beach or lake is no easy task. You need beach towels, water bottles, coolers, (don’t forget the ice), sunscreen, tanning oil, too, and snacks. The sun, the water and all the fun that comes with a long summer’s day can wear one out. And most of the time, unhealthy snacks are easier. But easy doesn’t have to mean unhealthy. Embrace nutrition and hydration with these easy frozen snacks that can be made ahead of time, and thrown in the cooler.
1. Grapes
Toss them with sugar and freeze for a yummy, poppable treat.
2. Cranberries
Add sugar to these bitter bits too, to balance them out.
3. Watermelon Cubes
Watermelon is made of 92% water! They’ll freeze right up. Try tossing them into your water or seltzer. Also try honeydew or cantaloupe!
4. Blueberries
Toss blueberries with your favorite yogurt and freeze until firm.
5. Kiwi
Slice kiwi, freeze and sprinkle with sugar for added sweetness.
6. Peaches
Cut into slices and arrange in single layer on cookie sheet, and freeze.
7. Raspberries
Try squeezing melted chocolate into the middle of the raspberries, and freeze until solid. Because chocolate makes everything better.
Stay cool, and enjoy these dog days of summer!
