Why Use Reef Safe Sunscreen?

Did you know that each year 4,000 to 6,000 metric tons of sunscreen enter in the oceans from swimmers, snorkelers, and divers? That is a lot of sunscreen! Even worse? Scientists have found that chemical sunscreen can bleach and kill coral.

It has been reported that 60% of our coral reefs are at risk because of pollutants, over fishing, physical damage, and disease. Every little bit adds up to cause this harm and we need to take preventative measures like using reef safe sunscreen to stop it.
